Human knees only bend in one direction. As a result they are extremely vulnerable in a crash. TAC’s interactive sculpture Graham, has knees with the ability to move in all directions.

Graham is the collaboration between the TAC, leading trauma surgeon Christian Kenfield, crash investigator expert David Logan and world-renowned artist Patricia Piccinini.

His knee joints are fortified with extra tendons that give added flexibility and allow his knees to bend in other ways. This means that when a crash happens, his knees have a greater chance of retaining their structure and are less likely to be injured.
