The Transport Accident Commission (TAC), in partnership with See.Sense and the Surf Coast Shire Council (SCS) collaborated to explore how the Light Insights Trial (LIT) could be utilised to better understand where people frequently ride and the challenges they face when using the road network within the Surf Coast Shire. Participant data and community engagement played a key role in informing the planning, design, and implementation of road safety improvements along Fischer Street in Torquay – a high-risk cycling corridor connecting the town’s north and south.
This video showcases the road safety countermeasures that were implemented and how they have benefited those who choose to ride bicycles on the Surf Coast Shire.
